Capacitors

All capacitors we sell are selected by us and made by top brands like Sprague (Vitamin Q), Gudeman, West-cap, Astron, Good-All, etc. They are new and unused from original stock (NOS) and from original packing unless we mention otherwise. They come directly from Dutch and USA Army stocks.  

Military paper-oil capacitors are well known for their very smooth and natural sound in any amplifier. They also normally have relatively low leakage current, in contrary to most paper oil audio types, like Jensen or Jupiter, especially after many years of usage. You can also use them really well paralleled to the right value in speaker crossover modifications, for example 4.7uF can be made from 4 x 1uF + 0.47uF + 0.22uF. We have had raving reviews using these (together with carbon comp resistors, see resistors) for years. Replacing the standard used MKP’s (even the very expensive ones), always gives a big improvement.  

Silver mica capacitors can be use to spice things up a little and are also very suitable for filtering signals, because of their higher precision and stability.

Teflon capacitors are in our opinion the best capacitors to use in the signal line. Teflon has a very low di-electric constant (like oiled paper also) so almost no interaction with the sound. Very detailed and with now harshness. We use them in higher grade speaker modification in the top end to get some more details over the paper oil capacitors, they make a great combination.
